Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) has worked hard over the last month to craft a police reform bill that will, unlike the nonsense cooked up by Pelosi’s imbeciles in the House, will actually make a difference on the ground. For his efforts, he’s been met with nothing but scorn from Democrats who have much more interest in campaigning on the issue of police reform than they do in actually passing legislation.
But in an interview with Fox News’s Martha MacCallum this week, Scott revealed that being called a “token” by cynical leftists is far from the worst insult he’s gotten from the supposedly-enlightened, tolerant progressives who make up the Democratic Party’s base.
In a recent meeting with his Republican colleagues, Scott – the lone black GOP senator – played for them some of the hateful, racist phone messages he’s received from liberals who are supposed to be so concerned with systemic racism in our nation.
“We had dozens — more than a dozen of them,” Scott said. “I only played two of them, which were the most racially offensive comments from liberals in this country. They called to say that I was in their crosshairs. It was so profanity-laced, you can’t play five seconds of those videos on your show because there are that many f-bombs, the n-word — by liberal Democrats — causing a stir in my office, threatening my life. It is the most audacious, repugnant behavior I’ve seen in a very long time.”
As disgusting as it is to hear this, it’s really no surprise at all. Look at how these #MeToo degenerates talked about Tara Reade when she accused Joe Biden of assaulting her in a Senate hallway. Look at how they spoke to Susan Collins when she voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Look at the way they took after J.K. Rowling when she refused to bend the knee to the transgender mania sweeping the culture. Their racist vitriol against Scott is just more of the same. If you’re not on board with their socialist agenda, these despicable “progressives” will show you just how sexist and racist they really are. In a heartbeat.
Scott also said that it became quickly obvious on Capitol Hill that Democrats were not interested in finding a bipartisan solution to police reform.
“I had multiple conversations with Democrats, including those two [Cory Booker and Kamala Harris], about what they saw that needed to be changed in the bill,” Scott said. “Now, I offered them 20 amendments to do the changing. They still walked away from the opportunity.”
Scott said that the racial protesters were even farther from reality than his Democratic colleagues.
“The uneducated are showing up in droves and unfortunately, they’re getting microphones because they have been empowered not by the historical perspective – not an evaluation based on historical understanding. That’s out the window,” Scott said. “It’s chaos and chaos leads to anarchy.
“And that’s dangerous, very dangerous for this nation,” he said. “And we need to force the conversation in the public forum so that adults can have conversations where we agree to disagree without being disagreeable. It can happen. It hasn’t happened in too long.”
Unfortunately, we’re not sure there ARE any “adults” on the left anymore.
