In testimony before the House Oversight Joint Subcommittee Hearing on Confronting White Supremacy, activist and writer Candace Owens warned that there was a far greater danger facing the black community in America than any so-called white supremacist groups. That danger? The Democratic Party.
“White supremacy is indeed real, but despite the media’s obsessive coverage of it, it represents an isolated, uncoordinated, and fringe occurrence within America,” Owens argued before Congress. “It’s a fringe occurrence that is being used, in my opinion, by Democrats to scare Americans into giving up their vote to a party that can no longer win based on simple ideas, which is why we’re seeing so many of these hearings — despite other threats that are facing this nation.
“I want to reiterate that point,” she continued. “White supremacy is real, just as racism is real, but neither of these ideologies are real in this room. They have become mechanisms for the left to continue to call these hearings, and to distract from much bigger issues that are facing this country, and which threaten minorities. Much bigger issues that Democrats are responsible for.”
It’s difficult to overstate how little the Democratic Party wants attention drawn to this undeniable truth – especially when the messenger is, herself, a black woman. That’s probably why you can scour the pages of the Washington Post and the New York Times and find next to nothing about Owens’ testimony. The Democratic Party would be nowhere were they to lose the support of minority voters, to whom they have pledged their undying support for the last thirty years. If anyone ever raises the question: Yeah, but to what benefit?…well, they get shut down and censored pretty fast.
Owens went on to tell the panel about the intense threats facing black Americans, none of which have anything to do with torch-bearing Nazis.
“’White nationalism’ sounds a lot better as a threat than ‘father absence,’” Owens said. “When are we going to call a hearing on the 74 percent single motherhood rate in black America today? My guess is probably never. Since Democrats are the author of that epidemic, which leaves us — black Americans — twenty times more likely to end up in prison, nine times more likely to drop out of high school, and five times more likely to lead a life in poverty and to commit crime.”
Owens said that low literacy rates and abortion were also much bigger threats to black America than white nationalism.
“It’s time for the left to do what they do best,” she continued. “Divide, distract, and hope to keep their most important voting block to their Party — black Americans — angry and emotional and reactive enough to keep voting for the same Party that has systemically destroyed our families, sent our men to prison, and deferred all of our dreams.”
But sadly, all too accurate.
