Up front admission: there are few things I find more annoying than politically-active children. Parroting their parents’ beliefs, these kids are obnoxious and off-putting, no matter which political umbrella they happen to fall under. I always think of the Westboro Baptist kids, standing alongside a highway with messages they can’t even explain. It’s nauseating.
That said, there are always exceptions to the rule, and 12-year-old CJ Pearson is one of those exceptions. A remarkably intelligent and well-spoken young man, Pearson released a video defending Mayor Rudy Giuliani for his comments about Obama’s love for this country.
“Here’s the truth of the matter,” Pearson says in the video, “I don’t want to be politically correct. I don’t care about being politically correct at this point. President Obama, you don’t love America.”
Pearson, who happens to be African-American, goes on to claim that if the president really loved America, he would not be afraid to call ISIS “what it really is, an assault on Christianity, an assault on America, and downright hate for the values our country holds: freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and every single thing our country stands for.”

As undeniably correct as Pearson may be, no good deed goes unpunished. Giuliani was savaged in the media for his attack on the president – some liberals even called his comments “racist” – and now Pearson has apparently fallen afoul of the Zuckerberg Empire. After the video went viral, Facebook locked Pearson out of his account, leaving him only able to communicate through his editor:
I am having my Editor, Alan Davidson post on my behalf on this page while Facebook continues to lock me out. The 1st amendment is obviously not a big concern to the powers at be at Facebook, but we will continue to fight back!
Facebook can cite their requirement that users must be at least 13 years old, but it’s funny how these rules are only enforced after someone criticizes one of the left’s sacred cows. And there is no cow more sacred than Obama. That liberals can’t launch accusations of racism at Pearson without coming off offensive and silly just makes them all the angrier.
Isn’t it interesting how the media’s focus has been on the fact of Giuliani’s comments and not on their substance? Why have so few commentators (outside of conservative circles) explored the sentiment rather than the person who expressed them? Where is the grand defense for Obama’s love of America? Is someone an automatic patriot just because they happened to ride their charisma into the White House? Are they immune to criticism because they happen to be black?
The answer, as it pertains to Obama at least, is a definitive yes. And his worshipers will continue to use every tool in their arsenal to silence and censor those who see the truth about this president. Even if the critic is still in middle school.
