What is the problem with The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah? Is this guy all right? We thought Jon Stewart was bad, but this guy takes terrible political punditry to a new level. This week, he was ranting on social media about how looting and rioting are defensible in a country where the “social contract” has been broken with black people. And now, for the second time in a month, he’s jabbering on about how President Trump might refuse to leave the White House even if he loses the election in November.
If a conservative-leaning talk show host was throwing around this kind of radical talk, he would be fired within the span of a second.
On Monday, in an interview with Hillary Clinton, Noah asked the woman-who-will-never-be-president if she can imagine a scenario in which Trump loses to Joe Biden but refuses to leave the White House because he disputes the fairness of the vote.
“Well, I think it is a fair point to raise as to whether or not, if he loses, he’s going to go quietly or not. And we have to be ready for that,” Clinton said. “But there have been so many academic studies and other analyses, which point out that it’s just an inaccurate, fraudulent claim.”
Oh, give it a rest, Hillary. We love how these Democrats pick and choose which forms of voter fraud they believe in, depending on how fixing it would affect their chances of being elected. We can count two or three stories JUST THIS WEEK that show how easy it is for mail-in ballots to get misplaced or thrown out. And we’ve certainly seen plenty of evidence that shows how simple it is to manufacture these ballots, put them in the hands of the wrong voters, and so forth. The idea that mail-in ballots are completely secure is a Democratic Party myth and nothing more.
Oh, but voter suppression against black people? That’s definitely a real thing, according to Democrats.
Voter ID is a racist trick to keep people of color from voting? Oh, that’s completely real and worth worrying about.
Saying in a debate that you might not respect the results of the election? Totally treasonous and dangerous. Actually refusing to accept the results of the election, ala Stacey Abrams in Georgia? That’s different, because reasons.
“Look, I want a fair election. If people get to vote and they, for whatever reason, vote for Donald Trump, OK, we’ll accept it. Not happily,” Clinton said.
Yeah, like you accepted it the first time with your Big Meanie Russia conspiracy? We won’t hold our breath.
