Keith Olbermann thinks his political opinions really matter.
That’s why he asked to be released from his ESPN contract so he could get back on YouTube and resume his deranged rants about Donald Trump and the Republican Party. Why Olbermann believes that the U.S. needed just one more #Resistance voice in the wilderness, we can’t begin to imagine. But in his video on Thursday, he certainly managed to distinguish his version of moonbat craziness from the garden variety insanity we commonly see on the left.
Take a read: “Trump can be and must be expunged. The hate he has triggered, the pandora’s box he has opened, they will not be so easily destroyed. So, let us brace ourselves. The task is twofold: The terrorist Trump must be defeated, must be destroyed, must be devoured at the ballot box and then he and his enablers and his supporters and his collaborators and the Mike Lees and the William Barrs and the Sean Hannitys and the Mike Pences and the Rudy Giulianis and the Kyle Rittenhouses and the Amy Coney Barretts must be prosecuted and convicted and removed from our society while we try and rebuild it and to rebuild the world Trump has nearly destroyed by turning it over to a virus.
“Remember it,” he continued. “Even as we dream of a return to reality and safety and the country for which our forefathers died that the fight is not just to win an election, but to win it by enough to chase at least for a moment Trump and the maggots off the stage. And then try to clean off what they left. Remember it. Even though to remember it means that the fight does not end November 3. But in many ways will only begin that day.”
Wow. So, Keith, um…do you mind explaining exactly why Mike Lee should be prosecuted? Why Amy Coney Barrett should be “removed from our society?” Why Sean Hannity needs to be convicted and tossed in prison? Because without further elaboration, we can only assume that you are advocating for the imprisonment of your political enemies, and that’s…well, that’s a dangerous road to travel.
In any event, we see why you went ahead and asked for your ESPN release ahead of time, knowing that this is the insanity you were going to be spewing on your YouTube channel. Although, with the way ESPN has been trending over the last few years, they would have probably been happy to endorse your loony ideas.
