Socialist Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may be a mainstream media darling, but she is the best gift the party has given to Republicans in a long time. Every time this abject idiot gets on television she embarrasses herself, the socialist movement, and the Democratic Party as a whole. Whether she’s fumbling her way through an answer about Israel and the Palestinians, struggling to tell Jake Tapper how she’s going to pay for her socialist agenda, or simply proving to anyone listening that she was better suited to bartending than lawmaking, she is a sight to behold.
On MSNBC this past week, Ocasio-Cortez was asked by host Chris Hayes to explain what she’s going to do when she finally gets to Congress in January. That’s about as softball as softball pitches get, but Ocasio-Cortez struck out hard.
“Well, I think a lot of it has to do with changing our strategy around governance, you know,” she said. “There is a lot of inside baseball, and inside the beltway, as you know, you always hear that term thrown around. But there are very few organizers in Congress and I do think that organizers operate differently. It’s a different kind of strategy and what it is – is really about organizing and really thinking about that word ‘organizing’, segmenting people, being strategic in their actions and really bringing together a cohesive strategy of putting pressure on the chamber instead of only focusing on pressure inside the chamber.”
Hayes, who either wasn’t listening or was biting the inside of his mouth to keep from laughing, merely murmured, “That’s a really interesting thought.”
Yeah. It sure was.
The RNC Research Twitter account had a different way to describe it.
“Alexandria Ocasio Cortez gives jumbled word salad when asked about her plans for Congress,” they wrote, linking the video.
If she really is the future of the Democratic Party, should we be celebrating or terrified?
