In yet another sign that our public education system is failing us, a new survey shows that Communism is more popular than ever among American Millennials. The survey, commissioned by a group called Victims of Communism and conducted by research firm YouGov, found that not only are 70% of U.S. Millennials poised to vote for socialist candidates but that one in three of them have a “favorable” attitude towards Communism. Barely half of Millennials said that the Declaration of Independence “guarantees freedom and equality” better than Mao Zedong’s Communist Manifesto.
“The historical amnesia about the dangers of communism and socialism is on full display in this year’s report,” said Marion Smith of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation. “When we don’t educate our youngest generations about the historical truth of 100 million victims murdered at the hands of communist regimes over the past century, we shouldn’t be surprised at their willingness to embrace Marxist ideas. We need to redouble our efforts to educate America’s youth about the history of communist regimes and the dangers of socialism today.”
A favorable posture towards a system of government that has caused more than its share of destruction, chaos, and death is not the only strange political opinion shared by young Americans. The survey found that 22% of Millennials believe that “society would be better if all private property was abolished.” 45% of Millennials and Generation Z members believe that “all higher education should be free.” We’re sure Bernie Sanders finds all of this endlessly amusing.
Astoundingly, the survey also found that, among ALL Americans over the age of 16, President Donald Trump is seen as the greatest threat to world peace. Yes, 27% say that Trump is the guy most likely to kick off World War III. Meanwhile, Kim Jong-Un only garnered 22% of the vote and Vladimir Putin a mere 15%. Good to see that the media’s brainwashing propaganda is working exactly as intended (though helped immensely by American colleges and systematic liberal echo chambers online).
Sanders and the Millennials who adore him may make careful distinctions between democratic socialism, socialism, and Communism, but you can bet your bottom dollar that one slides into the next like a perfect Russian nesting doll. Once we let this wolf-in-sheep’s-clothing known as “democratic socialism” into our country, it’s only a matter of time before we’re wearing brown shirts and working the fields on behalf of the glorious State.
