Proving yet again that they will suspend, ban, and eradicate from social media any user who doesn’t fall in line with the left’s dogma, Twitter blocked Mary Ann Mendoza from their platform this week after she posted messages in opposition to illegal immigration and sanctuary cities.
This is a particularly insensitive move on the part of Twitter, considering that Mendoza is an “angel mom,” meaning her son was killed by an illegal alien. Point blank, if a drunk illegal alien had not been careening down the highway (the wrong way) in 2014, police officer Brandon Mendoza would be alive today. We’d say that’s enough to permit a woman some rather pointed thoughts on immigration, wouldn’t you?
- “@KamalaHarris What law can I break and have you defend me so staunchly? Provide me sanctuary from our laws? Political cleanup from YOUR INACTION FOR DECADES is what it’s called. You have #bloodonyourhands for every death of an American killed by an ILLEGAL ALIEN CRIMINAL you are protecting.”
- “@EloraMukherjee Fighting for ILLEGAL ALIENS ONE CASE AT A TIME. The demise of our country from within. Where were you when American families need representation when their loved ones are killed by ILLEGAL ALIENS?!? Pro bono for illegals but NADA for Americans.”
- “4300+ Americans are KILLED EVERY YEAR by ILLEGAL ALIENS in the US. What do you have to say about that NEVER AGAIN?!?”
- “Americans are torn apart every hour by ILLEGAL ALIEN CRIMINALS. EVERY HOUR.”
These are passionate messages, for sure. But are they factually incorrect? Are they racial in any way? No, they are legitimate political opinions based on well-researched statistics. They just don’t happen to be “politically correct” positions. They don’t happen to be the positions of the Powers That Be at Twitter. And so Mendoza was suspended.
“I’m disgusted and disappointed that Twitter is trying to silence me,” Mendoza told Breitbart News. “I had my world ripped out from under me the day my son was killed by a repeat illegal alien criminal. I am the ‘other’ side of this crisis and the end result of open borders and the careless release of illegal aliens at our borders because of time restraints.”
Twitter management crawls out of the woodwork every so often to make the case that they aren’t politically biased, but at some point, the evidence is too strong to ignore. There was nothing “hate speech” in Mendoza’s posts. Wanting this country to enforce the law is not hate speech. Calling illegal alien criminals what they are is not hate speech. Calling out Democrats who care more about illegal aliens than Americans is not hate speech.
It’s just “wrongthink” in the eyes of bleeding-heart liberals, and that’s enough.
