Isn’t it about time we demanded some honesty out of this administration? Why are we content with Barack Obama’s lies when it comes to the greatest threat facing this planet? When is someone going to stand up and say, “You know, all due respect, Mr. President, but you’re full of crap.”
Last week, Obama sat down with HBO’s VICE News for an interview during which he fed us some more BS about the Islamic State.
“ISIL,” he said, “is a direct outgrowth of Al Qaeda in Iraq that grew out of our invasion. Which is an example of unintended consequences which is why we should generally aim before we shoot. We’ve got a 60-country coalition. We will slowly push back ISIL out of Iraq. I’m confident that will happen.”
Oh, where to start, where to start.
First of all, notice how Obama is trying to blame ISIS on President Bush. If it weren’t for that misguided war, we wouldn’t be dealing with these terrorists right now. Uh-huh. Keep believing that. What Obama doesn’t want to acknowledge is that things were pretty steady in Iraq after the surge. We won. We restored stability. And then we got the hell out of dodge, despite the fact that every one of Obama’s national security advisors told him that it was a mistake to withdraw completely. He did it anyway. If we still had thousands of troops in the country, ISIS would have never been able to do a thing. So that’s worth contemplating.
Second, what’s this business about a 60-country coalition? We’re still pushing that nonsense? We’re expected to believe that ISIS is so strong they can withstand the combined military force of 60 countries? This is one of those things he says and no one ever calls him out on it. No one is doing a damn thing to fight these savages. If all 60 countries in Obama’s so-called coalition got serious tomorrow about killing these terrorists, there would be no ISIS by the weekend. They would all be dead.
It doesn’t appear, though, that anyone is too worried about that. To Obama, Islamic jihad is not the biggest threat facing the world. In fact, he doesn’t even think it exists. To him, it’s just a coincidence that all of these terror groups take up arms and bombs in the name of Islam. They just like the little crescent moon symbol, maybe.
And since Islamic terrorism is not a thing, there’s really no rush to do anything about it. We can do it “slowly.” A bomb here. A bomb there. Here a bomb, there a bomb, everywhere a bomb-bomb. We’ll get ‘er done eventually. Never mind how many people are beheaded and crucified and burned alive in the meantime.
What would happen if Obama just told the truth about ISIS for once in his life? What if he said, “Well, they are evil, they must be stopped, and we must use the full force of the U.S. military to kill each and every one of them. We intend to have this done by the end of the week.”
Ah, wouldn’t that feel better? Because that’s about all it would take. One week of ground troops, missiles, and the most destructive bombs ever created by mankind, and ISIS would be a memory. We don’t practice this kind of warfare because of civilian casualties, but let’s just put all the cards out on the table. This is a threat that can be neutralized anytime we’re ready.
Unfortunately, we seem determined to wait until it shows up in our cities.
