Bret Weinstein, who was publicly humiliated and threatened when he dared to express his opinion about the anti-white “Day of Absence” at Evergreen State College, is planning to file a $3.8 million lawsuit against the school. If you’re not familiar with the story, it’s worth looking into, because it gives you an excellent glimpse into just how far so-called progressives are willing to go in the name of “racial justice.”
The long and short of it is that Evergreen’s young race-baiters hold an official “Day of Absence” each year; all of the minority students stay home to prove some point or another. But this year, they decided that it would be more effective for the white faculty and students to stay home instead. Understandably irritated by this nonsensical form of racial activism and the obvious racism bubbling underneath it, Professor Weinstein wrote an open letter rejecting the premise. This led to protests against him, official administrative sanctions, and the clear taint of a school that has lost all control over the students.
Weinstein has not been quiet about his dissent, especially since he has been put in a position where he must fear for his life as a result of utter social justice madness. This has led him to do interview on Fox News and other conservative outlets, despite the fact that he counts himself as an avowed liberal. According to records obtained by Campus Reform, his appearances on Fox really rankled the staff at Evergreen:
Email exchanges reviewed by Campus Reform feature harsh criticisms of Weinstein’s political views and calls for his termination, including one email sent by a faculty emerita that blasts Weinstein’s appearance on Fox News and his public comments about the racial tensions in Evergreen.
“Bret, I don’t know what you were thinking. By describing yourself to Tucker [Carlson] as a ‘deeply progressive person’ you provided him ammunition for the claim that ‘the crazies are even going after progressives!!!,’” part of the email reads.
Well…if the shoe fits.
In his tort claim against the public university, Weinstein accused Evergreen of permitting and perpetuating “a racially hostile and retaliatory work environment.”
“Through a series of decisions made at the highest levels, including to officially support a day of racial segregation, the College has refused to protect its employees from repeated provocative and corrosive verbal and written hostility based on race, as well as threats of physical violence,” claims the tort.
Weinstein is only the latest white victim of this regressive, baffling movement. Hopefully, he will prevail in his lawsuit and send a warning to every university in the nation: Hand over the keys to the asylum to the inmates if you wish, but there will be a heavy price to pay. Because if that message isn’t heard loud and clear, Weinstein’s career won’t be the last one sacrificed on this altar of idiocy.
