Biden Fails To Deliver On Drug Crisis Promise

TotalConservative.com) – President Joe Biden has been caught in another lie; this time suggesting that his administration was combating illegal drug trafficking. Biden announced a National Drug Control Strategy in 2022 that was going to help solve untreated addictions and empower law enforcement’s ability to stop cartels.

Biden’s press release at the time claimed that they would target “drug traffickers and transnational criminal organizations” by targeting their funding mechanisms. Despite the two-year-old claims, it seems the only impact has been the elimination of the competition with two major Mexican cartels operating almost all the drug trafficking business across the southern border.

The Jalisco and Sinaloa cartels are primarily responsible for bringing fentanyl into the country. The drug is an incredibly powerful member of the opioid family which can trigger overdose deaths with incredibly small amounts. Even exposure on the skin can be deadly for susceptible individuals and small children.

U.S. government data suggests ~200 people die every day from fentanyl poisoning. That includes people to voluntarily take the drug as well as those who are unknowingly consuming it thinking they’re taking something else. Methamphetamine manufactured in Mexico is also making its way across the southern border.

Additionally the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) released a report that connected Chinese money laundering operations in the U.S. to Mexican cartels, suggesting there may be a deeper connection between Chinese and Mexican criminals operating inside the U.S. The DEA announced a superseding 10-count indictment against members of the Sinaloa cartel with conspiracy and money laundering in Los Angeles.

The charging documents allege at least $50 million which flowed between Chinese money launderers and the Sinaloa cartel. Money laundering is often necessary for wealthy Chinese people living aboard as their citizens are capped at spending $50,000 or less outside of the country per year. Any additional funds must be kept in-country, so representatives of underground banking operations will take money in China and issue equivalent value anywhere in the world.
