(TotalConservative.com) – Kentucky Republican James Comer, Chairman of the House Oversight Committee tasked with investigating the Biden family, said he believes a whistleblower who plans on testifying as part of the Hunter Biden investigation came forward because the Democrats and mainstream media emboldened his decision.
The anonymous whistleblower from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) goes by the alias “Whistleblower X.” His identity will be revealed during a hearing before an oversight panel on Wednesday. During a Fox News interview, Comer said that he thinks the way the first whistleblower was treated by the “liberal media” and Democratic Party “propelled the second to come forward.” Comer said the agents are “respected” in the IRS and “have always done the right thing,” operating “by the book.”
Early last month, behind closed doors, “Whistleblower X” described himself before a committee as a Democrat and someone who “always strived” to keep politics out of his “frame of mind when working cases.” Every Democrat on the committee voted to keep the whistleblower’s testimony under wraps, but Republicans overruled them.
The investigation into Hunter Biden, which went on for years, resulted in a plea deal that would keep the first son out of prison for violating tax and gun laws. A hearing on the deal will be held on July 26.
“Whistleblower X” alleges that those in charge of investigating Hunter Biden dragged out the investigation in such a way as to spare the President’s son charges that would’ve been more serious.
Addressing Hunter Biden’s sweetheart deal on his new show, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson pointed out what he called “a two-tier justice system” where those in power can get away with only a slap on the wrist while the average American would’ve had the book thrown at them for the same charges.
Democrats have criticized Comer after the whistleblower Gal Luft, an energy expert and dual citizen of the U.S. and Israel, was recently indicted on multiple federal charges. Comer responded that there is a double standard amongst Democrats of what constitutes a credible whistleblower. He acknowledged that although some whistleblowers may not be credible or simply be “disgruntled employees, these whistleblowers from the IRS “have spotless records.”
