At an exuberant rally in Ringgold, Georgia on Saturday, Donald Trump Jr. urged supporters to turn out like mad to protect the Senate GOP majority by voting for David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler in the upcoming runoffs. Warning that the loss of the Senate would give Democrats all the power they need to destroy everything his father has worked for over the last four years, Don Jr. said that it was essential that MAGA world ignore the calls of some Republicans to boycott the runoffs over frustrations stemming from the election.

“Do not squander this opportunity,” Trump Jr. said. “Because I promise you, you will regret it. You will wake up one day in January and say, ‘Crap. Should’ve done a little bit more.’ Whatever you would do to reverse that feeling then, do it now.”

Perdue and Loeffler and facing off against Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock on January 5th. If Democrats win both contests, the Senate will be tied 50/50. Unfortunately, that deadlock will hand the tiebreaking vote to the incoming vice president – none other than Kamala Harris. To prevent this dismal future in which Biden, Schumer, and Pelosi can pretty much do whatever they want for at least the next two years, Republicans need to ensure that either Loeffler or Perdue wins their races. Preferably, both.

“There’s way too much at stake, guys, for ourselves, for our families, for our freedoms, you know, all those things the left doesn’t really believe in. I still do. That’s why I’m doing this,” Trump Jr. said. “This isn’t just the Senate, but it’s also my father’s legacy and his accomplishments. All of those things that they’ll try to take away, all of the freedoms that he fought for.”

The president’s son has pushed back hard against calls from lawyer Lin Wood for Georgia Republicans to boycott the election as a way to express their anger over fraud in the 2020 contest between Trump and Biden. He did so again at the rally this weekend, urging supporters not to hand Democrats an undeserved victory.

“That’s what the Democrats want,” he said. “That sounds like a Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi talking point. That’s what the Democrats have been hoping and praying and dreaming for years would happen to Republicans  – that Republicans would get sick of it, that they’d be dejected, that they’d end up just sitting at home.”

Let’s hope that doesn’t happen. As Newt Gingrich said, we have to win these races with a wide enough margin that it not only secures a victory, but puts it out of reach of Democrat cheating. There’s way too much on the line to let this slip through our fingers.
