In what surely came as a surprise to the LGBT voters who love and support this president, country singer Kacey Musgraves polluted Twitter on Friday with a tweet that not only mischaracterized Donald Trump’s position on gay issues but also conflated voting (speech) with violence…the way radical leftists love to do.
We wouldn’t have necessarily taken Musgraves as a “woke” cultural Marxist, but we’re continually surprised by how easily these braindead celebrities fall for the left’s utter nonsense. Is it real? Is it just pandering? Who knows and who cares. If you’re spouting this rhetoric, you’re responsible for it, whether you really believe it or not.
Tweeting an image that showed a rainbow background, Musgraves shared the message: “If you love an LGBTQ+ person and you’re planning on voting for Donald Trump in November, that’s an act of violence against them.”
Cool story, Kacey.
Musgraves’ tweet drew quick condemnation from former Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell, who just happens to be an openly gay man himself.
“Twitter should ban this piece of fake news. This isn’t remotely correct. Stop making gay rights a partisan issue, Kacey! You aren’t helping gay people one bit,” Grenell replied. “We aren’t tokens.”
But that’s how liberals see every group. Every category. Everyone is reduced down to their race. Their sexual orientation. Their gender identity. Their claim to oppression. Today’s critical theory scholars and their (witting and unwitting) supporters have taken the concept of labor unions and blanketed all of politics with the same “you’re either with us or against us” mentality. It is the raised red fist of Communism, only now available in black, rainbow, and every other color imaginable.
Except, of course, white.
In 2016, Colin Jost of Saturday Night Live had a pretty funny joke. On the Weekend Update segment, he shared that Facebook was introducing a whole slate of new genders by which users could identify themselves on the platform. Jost deadpanned: “They’re calling the feature: Why Donald Trump was elected.” It was hilarious because it was so true. The left has become so ridiculous and so removed from real America that it’s a wonder that Biden is doing as well in the polls as he is.
Back to Kacey: Voting for the President is an “act of violence”? Get out of here with that crap. If you want to worry about violence, take a look at Portland and you’ll have all the problems you can handle.
But to do that, you’d have to actually be concerned about human beings and not just trying to make yourself look special on Twitter.
