A new report from The Daily Caller reveals the extent to which some of the world’s largest and most powerful tech companies are in bed with the Southern Poverty Law Center, a sham left-wing donation machine that masquerades as an impartial “hate watchdog” for the benefit of the mainstream media.

SPLC’s dubious origins and outrageous claims have been thoroughly chronicled, but this has not prevented news media organizations from the New York Times to the Washington Post to NBC and beyond from continuing to use them as a trusted authority on American hate groups. And now, thanks to the work of the DC, we know that Facebook, Google, Twitter, and Amazon are all partnered with this shyster of a company to monitor their own platforms.

Facebook, Amazon, Google and Twitter all work with or consult the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) in policing their platforms for “hate speech” or “hate groups,” a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation found.

The SPLC is on a list of “external experts and organizations” that Facebook works with “to inform our hate speech policies,” Facebook spokeswoman Ruchika Budhraja told TheDCNF in an interview.

Facebook consults the outside organizations when developing changes to hate speech policies, Budhraja said, noting that Facebook representatives will typically hold between one and three meetings with the groups.

Citing privacy concerns, the Facebook spokeswoman declined to name all the outside groups working with Facebook, but confirmed the SPLC’s participation.

The Daily Caller found that Twitter, Google, and Amazon have similar partnerships with the SPLC, all of them working in conjunction with the ridiculously-biased organization to determine how and when to censor the content of their users. Amazon was by far the most willing to simply hand over the reins of power to the group, confirming to the website that they pull groups from their Smile charitable platform if and when the SPLC demands it!

“We remove organizations that the SPLC deems as ineligible,” a spokeswoman told reporters. She said they do it that way to avoid the appearance of bias. She could not, however, confirm that Amazon considered the Southern Poverty Law Center to be an “unbiased” source of information.

Among the idiotic claims of “hate” the organization has made in recent years, the SPLC has denoted any and all Muslim reformers – Muslims who speak out against the extremism inherent in the religion – as worthy of scorn. They have also brought their glaring spotlight to bear on a figure no less mainstream than Dr. Ben Carson, who was criticized for his conservative Christian beliefs. Missing from the site is any mention of Islamist groups like CAIR, who hide their extreme views behind a liberal platform of nonstop Islamic apologia.

The revelation that these major tech sites work hand in hand with the biased SPLC is just further evidence that Silicon Valley is in a war with American conservatism. And, judging from everything we’ve seen recently, it doesn’t appear they’ll be laying down their arms anytime soon.
