(TotalConservative.com) – A brave mom tragically impacted by the insolvent nature of the southern border testified before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Integrity, Security, and Enforcement on May 23rd. Tammy Nobles told House Representatives the story of her daughter, Kayla Hamilton, who had just turned 20 years old and suffered from autism when she was violently murdered and raped by an illegal border crosser with MS13 gang affiliation.
Kayla was at home, a shared trailer in which she rented a room in Aberdeen, Maryland. Unfortunately for her, a 16-year-old migrant was also renting a room in the trailer. Just five days after he began living there, he entered her room, robbed her, raped her, and strangled her to death with an iPhone charging cable. Kayla’s boyfriend found her body on her bedroom floor with the cord still tightly wound around her neck.
Police lacked enough evidence at the time to arrest the young man, and so he was taken into custody by Child Protective Services who placed him in a group home with other young, vulnerable children – fully aware he was the suspect in a brutal murder case.
Nobles said that politics isn’t the issue, but rather this is a safety concern for all Americans. She testified that she was unaware what vetting, if any occurred, before allowing this young man into the country. He was arrested last January on first-degree murder, robbery, and rape charges and is awaiting trial behind bars with no option for bail.
The Biden administration allows unaccompanied alien children (UACs) or any minor under the age of 18 who comes over the border without an adult with them, to stay under the authority of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) unless they can be placed with a sponsor. After the placement, they do not track or follow up with these minors. Many have been involved in labor trafficking and far worse, according to some whistleblowers.
The testimony was part of a series of hearings in the House entitled “The Biden Border Crisis” which seeks to analyze the border policies of President Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and their impact on Americans like Kayla and her family.
