How Trump Could Be Face Sentence Even After Being Elected

(TotalConservative.com) – Lawyers are telling corporate media that Trump could face a sentence for convictions on DOJ conjured allegations before Inauguration Day, despite a recent Supreme Court ruling that the president cannot be prosecuted for official acts while in office. Defense Attorney Misty Marris told the corporate press that we were in “uncharted territory,” and that it was possible the DOJ continues its prosecution right up through the inauguration.

Marris contends that the DOJ could argue that the president isn’t the president until he’s inaugurated on January 20th, leaving some wiggle room to continue to seek convictions and sentences right up to the day in question.

She countered that the defense team will highlight that the president-elect is given briefings and other duties that lend to the office being effectively equivalent to the presidency, making prosecutions unlawful. Trump’s D.C. case for January 6 related allegations has been in limbo awaiting the recent ruling.

The ruling will kick the issue as to whether or not Trump was acting officially as president on January 6, 2021 to lower courts. Trump has maintained he’s done nothing wrong and his prosecutions are entirely political shams designed to influence the 2024 election. Democrats have argued that Trump engaged in “insurrection” and attempted to overthrow the government when he’s never been charged or convicted of any related claims.

Marris also highlighted that Trump could face a sentence in the New York campaign finance case after he was convicted earlier in the summer. Trump was convicted of not appropriately cataloging the expense of purchasing a non-disclosure agreement, despite cataloging it as a legal expense. Observers argued that there was substance to the trial and anticipate the case being flipped on appeal.

Trump also faces allegations of wrongdoing regarding taking presidential records upon leaving office. Lawyer Terri Austin also told corporate press outlets that she thought there could be a trial in D.C. over the January 6 allegations before inauguration. Austin highlighted how Judge Tanya Chutkan has seemingly attempted to speed along the process as much as she has been able to.
