Illegal Immigrant, Deported 4 Times, has Bond Set after Deadly Car Crash

(TotalConservative.com) – A man in the country illegally who has been deported multiple times is being charged with a deadly car crash that killed a Colorado mother and her 16-year-old son. Police sources say that the suspect, Jose Guadalupe Menjivar-Alas, 37, had been convicted previously for DWI repeatedly. He’s also been deported four times already.

Menjivar-Alas is from El Salvador and was arrested on December 15th for his part in a fatal car crash that killed Melissa Powell, 47, and her 16-year-old son, Riordan. Police said that the suspect had three times the legal limit for alcohol in his system at the time of the accident and was driving over 100 miles per hour.

After being released from the hospital, Menjivar-Alas was slammed with vehicular homicide, DWI, reckless driving, and an added charge for being a repeat traffic offender. He’s being held at the Broomfield County Jail on a $250,000 cash-only bond.

The judge expressed concern that Menjivar-Alas could post bail and possibly be deported without facing a trial over the deaths he caused.

An ICE spokesman speaking with Fox News suggested that Menjivar-Alas “has no regard” for U.S. laws, and now he’s causing deaths of innocent Americans with his criminal behavior.

People in the country illegally are causing additional strain on criminal justice and law enforcement around the country. A liberal judge in Boston released a Haitian man back into the community after he was accused of rape and assaulting a developmentally disabled person.

The judge did not explain how an ankle monitor would prevent the man from reoffending. Thankfully federal agents arrested and detained the man and will hold him in custody until his legal case resolves.

Meanwhile Democratic leaders within the Biden administration refuse to accept any responsibility for the crisis. DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas blamed Texas and the GOP for impeding their ability to facilitate illegal border crossings. Mayorkas is currently facing an impeachment in Congress for his failure to maintain the integrity of the southern border.
