We’re so busy worrying about what the liberal media is saying about President Trump on any given day that it’s easy to miss the stunning bias they bring to other stories about the administration. In one of the most flagrant pieces of fake news we’ve seen in some time, for instance, ABC News ran a story last week accusing Attorney General Jeff Sessions of hiding from reporters after delivering a speech to a “hate group.” Like, wow. Really? Let’s read on and see what this is all about.

From ABC:

Attorney General Jeff Sessions delivered a speech to an alleged hate group at an event closed to reporters on Tuesday night, but the Department of Justice is refusing to reveal what he said.

Sessions addressed members of the Alliance Defending Freedom, which was designated an “anti-LGBT hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center in 2016, at the Summit on Religious Liberty at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, in Dana Point, California.

The event promised to “bring together prominent legal advocates, scholars, cultural commentators, business executives and church leaders to examine the current state of religious freedom” and “develop legal and cultural strategies to allow freedom to flourish in the United States and around the world.”

And yet, completely believable. Why? Well, for one, these news organizations will go to any lengths necessary to make any Trump official look like the scum of the earth. Two, they won’t even blink an eye when it comes to choosing between religious conservatives and the LGBT movement. As far as they’re concerned, anyone who does not believe that gays should be allowed to get married, that bakers should be forced to participate in their weddings, and that gays should generally be regarded as the very height of American virtue is a seething deplorable who should be sent to live on a deserted island.

And three, because the media – despite knowing for a very long time that the Southern Poverty Law Center is a plainly biased, liberal source, has decided that whatever the SPLC says is the gospel truth.

The Alliance Defending Freedom is a Christian legal outfit that does some extraordinary work. And their work has become vital over the last few years in an era where private business owners are being targeted and persecuted – sometimes all the way to bankruptcy – for their religious beliefs. If it weren’t for ADF and other law firms like them, we cringe to think about just how much economic and cultural havoc the LGBT militant army would have wreaked. Even with these guardians of liberty out there, the damage has been substantial.

But the dangers here go well beyond Sessions and this specific group. They go to the very heart of religious liberty. The media and the LGBT movement is trying to make it a FACT that anyone who opposes gay marriage is guilty of “hate” and bigotry. And from there, it’s only a matter of time before they start persecuting churches and other religious groups who still preach the Biblical line on matters of sexuality.

We can only be grateful that, for the time being, we have a Justice Department that recognizes what’s going on and a president who will choose the First Amendment over the left’s sick agenda.
