Jet Tire Bursts Into Flames On Tarmac

(TotalConservative.com) – Another day, another incident with embattled aerospace giant Boeing suffering a major mechanical malfunction on one of its jets. This time a Boeing 737-800 aircraft on its way from Tampa to Phoenix on Wednesday, July 10 had to abort takeoff after its wheels caught fire and began smoking heavily.

The tires could be seen burning after the jet came to a complete stop and emergency crews were able to squelch the flames without further incident or injury. Unfortunately for travelers, the flight was canceled.

American Airlines Flight 590 attempted takeoff around 8:00 a.m. according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Crew members said that the jet had “multiple blown tires,” and the passengers were deplaned and bussed back to the airport.

One commenter online claimed to be on the plane and said that they heard a loud bang which followed the plane shaking and breaking hard as it traversed the runway. The traveler described seeing multiple burned and destroyed tires as well as flat ones on the other side of the plane.

A statement from American Airlines called the problem “a mechanical issue” and highlighted that no one was injured during the incident. The company also apologized for the interruption in travel plans.

The incident marks just the latest fiasco involving Boeing-manufactured jets. On January 5, a Boeing 737 Max 9 jet suffered the loss of a door-plug mid-flight which triggered depressurization and an emergency landing. A week later, on January 13, a 737 cockpit window cracked mid-flight forcing the plane to return to its origin. Days later on January 19, a Boeing 747 cargo plane experienced a fire on board forcing an emergency landing and the next day, January 20, a Boeing aircraft lost a wheel of its front landing gear shortly before takeoff.

Additional incidents followed in March, May, and June. The company is under federal scrutiny over its quality control protocols and recently agreed to plead guilty to fraud allegations after two crashes in 2018 and 2019 resulted in the deaths of 346 people.
