If you look at the latest round of approval polls for President Donald Trump, you would think we’re looking at one of the least popular presidents of all time. If these polls are to be believed, Trump is spiraling down the drain to some of the worst job approval ratings any president has ever seen. And, to be clear, we fully believe that these polls are (relatively) accurate. Yes, they may be weighted to this degree or that one, but we have no problem believing that the majority of Americans strongly disapprove of Trump’s presidency. Why would they? The mainstream media’s coverage of Trump has been like one long highway car crash since January. Garbage in, garbage out, as they say.

And it is garbage, make no mistake about that.

On his program Tuesday, radio host Rush Limbaugh noted that if Americans were getting the truth about Trump’s presidency and, in particular, its effect on the economy, those poll numbers might look quite a lot different. But Limbaugh argued that Trump is in no way getting the credit he should be getting for the economic boom.

“I’m gonna shoot you straight here,” Limbaugh said. “Donald Trump’s not getting nearly the credit he deserves for the performance of the U.S. economy. You talk about a rebound? I mean, where was it 10 months ago? Where was it a year ago? Where was it during the seven years of Obama? Remember they were trying to tell us that we had to adapt to a new reality, and that is an America in decline? We had to adapt to these things because America’s past had been not real. Our economic heft and our superpower status was largely undeserved.

“But now it was time to pay the piper and find out how the rest of the world – that we have been trampling all over – lives,” he continued. “And Trump, of course, has reversed thinking; he has reversed performance; there is confidence among consumers. They’re spending. Jobs have been created.”

The problem here – in addition to the media’s disdain for Trump – is that the American people have been sold a lie for the last six years that told us that Obama had rescued us from the recession and all of the accompanying crap. Americans didn’t really BUY that, of course – the proof was in last year’s election, if nothing else – but it’s a story the media is sticking to even to this day. And so they can’t exactly turn around and give Trump credit for this huge recovery…because they’ve been telling us the economy recovered long before Trump came into office. It’s fake news on top of fake news.

But numbers don’t lie, and eventually the media’s fiction will catch up to them. Americans are going to start noticing the economic boom with or without the media’s help, and – like every president before him – Trump will get the credit. Oh, the left really doesn’t want that to happen. Sadly for them, there’s nothing they can do about it.
