In order to keep their narrative straight over the past three years, the media has shamelessly engaged in a great deal of gaslighting. For instance, we’re told that Trump called neo-Nazis “very fine people” in Charlottesville, when he did nothing of the kind. We’re told that Ukraine never meddled in the 2016 election, despite the same media telling us that they did. And now we’re told that the FBI never spied on the Trump campaign…even though that’s exactly what the new Inspector General’s report is all about.

It’s no wonder people are beginning to tune out of all the impeachment coverage. The media likes to tell us that Republicans and Democrats are divided into two different factual universes, but the truth is that the Democrats themselves have a few universes all to themselves, depending on the day of the week.

Put aside Michael Horowitz’s conclusion that “no political bias” went into initiating the investigation into Trump’s campaign. This is misdirection at best, and a statement of the unknowable at worst. Exactly how would one prove “political bias”? Keep in mind that we’re also supposed to believe that the Ukraine whistleblower had no political bias, despite working closely with Joe Biden and being a registered Democrat. Now we’re expected to believe the same about an investigation led by Peter “We Will Stop Him” Strzok? It doesn’t pass muster.

Instead, let’s think about how the media would present this story if it was about the Trump administration/FBI/DOJ conducting an investigation into the Biden campaign. You think anyone would take seriously a report that said there was no political bias involved? Well, it turns out you don’t have to imagine anything. You can just turn directly to the impeachment saga, where Democrats have taken it as a point of assumed FACT that Trump was motivated by politics when he asked Ukraine to investigate the Bidens.

Investigating your political rivals: Impeachable if you’re a Republican, perfectly okay if you’re a Democrat.

This is the world we’re now living in.

Whether you call it “surveillance,” “using a mole,” or any other soft-pedaled term, the truth is that the Obama administration spied on the Republican nominee for president. They did so using informants and they did so using a warrant typically reserved for spying on terrorists and other enemies of the state. That the media is not demanding accountability is just more (unneeded) evidence of how much they despise Donald Trump.

Never forget: Robert Mueller exonerated Trump of collusion.

Never forget: Carter Page was never charged with a crime.

Never forget: Not a single Trump campaign aide, official, or friend was charged with working in concert with Russia to interfere in the 2016 election.

It was a farce from beginning to end. The IG report, showing multiple instances of abuse and recklessness, is just the icing on top of a rotten cake.
