(TotalConservative.com) – New trouble is brewing for President Joe Biden over some classified documents found at his old office space at the President’s former institute the White House revealed on Monday, January 9th.
“A small number of documents with classified markings” were found as Biden’s staff was cleaning out his former office space at the Penn Biden Center, according to Biden attorney Richard Sauber. The space was where Biden worked during his time after leaving the Vice Presidency and before launching his presidential campaign in 2019.
Biden’s staff immediately notified the White House Counsel’s office, who in turn tasked the National Archives and Records Administration with recovering the files. They took possession the next day. Department of Justice (DOJ) Head Merrick Garland has tasked Trump-appointed attorney John Lausch to review the documents, according to a person familiar with the matter.
The documents have already caused a headache for President Biden, ex-President Trump blasting out “When is the FBI going to raid the many homes of Joe Biden, perhaps even the White House?” on his social media site, Truth Social.
The timing could not have been worse as the DOJ mulls charges against Trump related to his possession of classified documents and January 6th. With the now-president engaging in similar behavior as the ex-president it will seem quite partisan if the law is levied against only one of them.
Asking if the White House or other Biden residences were going to be raided, Rep. James Comer Chairman of the House Oversight Committee said, “This is further concern that there’s a two-tier justice system within the DOJ…” Comer continued by pointing out that the differential treatment of Republicans versus Democrats or former versus current presidents by the DOJ is troubling.
