(TotalConservative.com) – Does Anheuser-Busch, the parent company of Bud Light, deserve a second chance? According to former President Donald Trump, who recently defended the beer brand as its sales have remained down since courting “wokeness,” the iconic beer brand is too important to give up on.
In a recent post to his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said that the company made “a mistake of epic proportions” when they decided to partner with transgender social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney, who was pictured on Bud Light cans for advertisement. The former president Bud Light paid “a very big price” for that decision, which resulted in widespread criticism from conservative Americans, many of whom boycotted the beer.
Despite this blunder, Trump said that Anheuser-Busch, which owns the Bud Light brand, “is not a Woke company.” He then added that he can name “plenty that are” and claims he is currently “building a list” of such companies that he’s considering releasing to the public. Trump said that since the “Radical Left” does this in order to ruin companies and individuals who lean conservative, he may just play the same game.
The former president called out the beer company last year in May and openly supported the boycott, despite the fact that his son argued in favor of Anheuser-Busch. Donald Trump Jr. said he wasn’t supportive of destroying an “iconic” American company for something so trivial. The company reportedly saw a 10% drop in its market share after Bud Light sales tanked by almost 30% since the previous year.
Trump is now in agreement with his son, noting that the company employs 65,000 Americans, over 1,500 of whom are veterans. He mentioned some of the company’s other achievements and the millions of dollars donated toward around 44,000 scholarships across the country.
Trump called Anheuser-Busch “a Great American Brand” that deserves another chance. He concluded that perhaps conservatives should instead consider “going after” companies that are actually “looking to destroy” the country.
