Mom and Children Burned To Death By Illegal Immigrant

(TotalConservative.com) – An illegal alien deported several times in the past was arrested in California under suspicion of murdering a mother and her two children by setting their house on fire.

On Friday, July 12, the Stockton Police Department announced that 59-year-old Jose Carmen Cardona was arrested in connection to an arson attack that left three dead. The victims are 32-year-old Lisbeth Gutierrez-Salazar and her two sons, 10-year-old Juan Gutierrez-Salazar and 7-year-old Julian Gutierrez-Salazar. Another boy, whose identity was not released, escaped the carnage.

The suspect was reportedly deported at least three times in the past and managed to sneak back into the US.

According to law enforcement, Cardona and Gutierrez-Salazar were dating but not married and he was not the children’s father. Cardona allegedly waited for the family to fall asleep and then set their mobile home on fire as they slept. He quickly ran from the scene and fled the area, leading local law enforcement to contact the US Marshal Service following an arrest warrant issued on Friday, June 28.

After a manhunt lasting two weeks, the US Marshal for California’s Eastern District caught up with Cardona, and located him at a bus stop in Modesto, roughly 30 miles from the crime scene. They took him into custody without incident. Cardona faces multiple charges, including child endangerment, murder, and attempted murder. If convicted, he may be eligible for a death penalty sentence and is being held without bail in French Camp at the San Joaquin County Jail.

US Marshal Lasha Boyden said she hopes the violent offender’s capture “will bring some sense of justice” to the family and their loved ones. Lasha said the “horrific act of violence” was not just felt throughout the Central Valley community but across the nation.

Cardona was arraigned on Monday, July 15. On top of three premeditated murder counts, a single count of child endangerment, and a single count of attempted murder, the DA also filed special circumstances that would qualify Cardona for the death penalty. Those special circumstances include torture, arson, and multiple murder.
