(TotalConservative.com) – Three UK citizens are dead and the cause is still under investigation with police suspecting that a bad batch of illegal narcotics was involved. One woman and two men all from the same town died mysteriously on Tuesday, July 16 leading police to suspect the involvement of illegal drugs.
Police only identified the victims as a woman and man in their thirties and a man in his forties. All three victims were from the town of South Shields in South Tyneside. Police suggested that a possible bad batch of drugs were to blame and informed the relatives of the victims of the possibility.
Two additional people were taken into police custody who are suspected of being involved. Those individuals were described as a man in his thirties and a woman in her twenties. They’re being detained on suspicion that they supplied Class A drugs to the victims.
Detective Inspector Emma Martin with the Northumbria Police told members of the press that even though the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths are still unexplained, police have a responsibility to protect the public. She further elaborated that is their highest priority.
Martin also suggested that the deaths were “linked to drugs,” even potentially the same batch of illicit narcotics without specifically suggesting which drugs were involved or why they held that suspicion. She said that their early investigations suggested the possibility which has led the police to issue community-wide warnings out of an abundance of caution.
Martin also suggested the deaths occurred under “similar circumstances” without elaboration and while they would never encourage drug use they wanted to warn the public nonetheless. She additionally advised anyone struggling with drug problems to be wary about the chemicals they’re consuming.
