RFK Jr. Confirms Trump Meeting

(TotalConservative.com) – Two days after the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr. met with the former president, which Kennedy confirmed while dispelling rumors of an endorsement.

On July 13, Trump was attacked at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where multiple shots were fired at the former president as he spoke to his supporters. One of those shots struck the top of his ear, narrowly missing a fatal blow to Trump’s head that would have killed him. The attempt evoked memories for Americans of past presidents who were assassinated, especially John F. Kennedy.

The late President Kennedy’s nephew is now running for president himself, just like his father Robert F. Kennedy Sr, who was also assassinated while campaigning. On July 15, reports began to circulate that Kennedy and Trump had a private meeting in Milwaukee and that the former president sought the independent candidate’s endorsement. Kennedy’s campaign confirmed the same day that the meeting took place, but denied any plans to drop out of the contest.

Stefanie Spear, press secretary for the Kennedy campaign, told reporters that Trump did meet with the independent candidate “to discuss national unity” and that Kennedy planned to meet with Democratic Party leaders as well. She added that Kennedy would not drop out and described him as the only candidate who was “pro-environment, pro-choice,” and “anti-war” who defeated Trump in “head-to-head polls.”

Kennedy himself addressed the rumors that the focus of the meeting was an endorsement of Trump, which he dispelled and clarified that the “main topic” of discussion was “national unity.” Echoing Spear, he said he would also meet with Democratic leaders to discuss the same topic, and that he was not withdrawing from the race.

The same day, Trump also posted a message on Truth Social page calling for the federal government to “immediately” provide Secret Service protection for Kennedy, in light of the recent assassination attempt and “given the history of the Kennedy family.” Trump said it was “the obvious right thing to do.”
