UFO Expert Says It’s Time For The Government To Come Clean

(TotalConservative.com) – Congress is creating a new official office to study the phenomenon that used to be called unidentified flying objects (UFO) but now are generally referred to as unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and a Harvard academic thinks it is time they told the truth.

The government program will be called the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) and will be tasked with investigating UAP cases.

One academic, Harvard University’s Christopher Mellon of the Galileo Project, hailed the creation of the office in an editorial. In it, he addressed the decades of rumors that materials from crashed UFOs have been recovered by the U.S. government in the past, and that many believe the government is reverse engineering the alien technology. He says it is time for the government to come clean.

Mellon said that AARO would be responsible for “reviewing all non-disclosure agreements” related to UAP, and for “evaluating” all historical documents from intelligence agencies, as well as extending “protections” to any individual who may have signed an official non-disclosure agreement issued by the U.S. government so they may come forward to share testimony without being prosecuted.

Mellons gives a list of reasons why he believes disclosure is the best route for the government, stating that the public not only has “a right to know the truth,” but that they also need to know.

In the past, the U.S. Air Force organized official offices to study the UFO phenomenon, beginning with Project Sign from 1947-1949, which then became Project Grudge from 1949 to 1951, and eventually, the famously named Project Blue Book from 1952 to 1969. The scientific advisor for these programs was J. Allen Hynek, an astronomer who began as a skeptic and later became the “father of ufology.”

In 2019, the U.S. Navy openly admitted that UFOs are real but changed the common parlance for the phenomenon to UAP, which is now the official term used by the government, mainly because it’s not quite clear how nuts and bolts the so-called objects are.
