(TotalConservative.com) – A recent poll shows that almost 90% of Americans believe President Joe Biden is too old for a second term in the White House.
According to the poll published by ABC News in partnership with Ipsos, 86% of Americans (roughly 9 out of 10) feel the president’s age is much too advanced to handle four more years as commander-in-chief. In contrast, only 3% of respondents felt that way about former President Donald Trump.
The poll is the latest to emerge amid an ongoing national discussion about the president’s health and cognitive abilities, which many Americans and their lawmakers believe are clearly in decline.
The poll also comes shortly after the report published by Special Counsel Robert Hur, who was in charge of the probe into Biden’s mishandling of classified documents while he was vice president in the Obama administration.
Hur concluded that criminal charges against Biden were unwarranted and no sufficient evidence could be found to establish “beyond a reasonable doubt” that the president was guilty. More importantly, it cited his memory as one factor in that decision. Hur maintained that if Biden stood trial, the jury would likely view him as “sympathetic,” and a “well-meaning, elderly man with poor memory.”
Critics of the president continue to point out the contradiction of the report’s assessment alongside the Democratic Party’s support of Biden to run for a second term. Somehow, we can have a president who is too incompetent to stand trial but still competent enough to serve four more years in the White House.
Another recent poll found that 82% of respondents felt Biden’s state of health and mental fitness are “weak points” for him as a presidential candidate, making it the highest-voted weakness in the poll, which included issues such as the economy and the open border/immigration crisis.
And if the polls comparing Biden to Trump are accurate, the president will have a hard time winning a second term come November.
