Expected to Announce Running Mate Soon

(TotalConservative.com) – Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is planning to announce a running mate for his independent presidential campaign, and it appears that he is tapping an entrepreneur and attorney from California.

Nicole Shanahan is Kennedy’s likely pick for running mate. Shanahan, who is the ex-wife of Sergey Brin (one of the co-founders of Google), works as a lawyer in California. She is also president and founder of a private non-profit called Bia-Echo Foundation, which provides grants to initiatives related to criminal justice reform, equality, the environment, and reproductive rights. Shanahan came into the picture as a major donor and funded the Kennedy campaign’s Super Bowl commercial in February.

Before zeroing in on the entrepreneur, Kennedy was floating the possibility of NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, as well as former governor of Minnesota, Jesse Ventura. Rodgers was apparently a serious consideration, and Rolling Stone even reported that a consultant for the Kennedy campaign even registered a website domain featuring the quarterback before he backed out.

Rodgers, just like Kennedy, stirred up a great deal of controversy over the last few years from his outspoken positions against vaccine and mask mandates emerging across the country in response to the 2020 pandemic. Like Kennedy, his public positions and defiance of the mandates resulted in bans and widespread backlash from mainstream media pundits.

Kennedy originally launched his campaign as a Democrat but found no way forward and little to no support from his family. He then relaunched as an independent in October 2023 and left the Democratic Party, a decision he said he didn’t make “lightly.” During his speech in Philadelphia, he said it was “painful” for him to leave the party of his uncles, his father, his grandfather, and his great-grandfathers.

The son of Robert “Bobby” Kennedy Sr. and former President John F Kennedy, both of whom were assassinated, has not received a welcome response from the rest of the Kennedy clan. And when Shanahan’s expensive PAC ad ran on Super Bowl Sunday, it angered some of them even more for featuring family members who did not give consent and wanted no association with Kennedy’s bid for the White House or his anti-vaccine views. Kennedy apologized for the ad, which he said his campaign was not directly responsible for.

Kennedy is set to officially announce Shanahan on Tuesday, March 26.
