(TotalConservative.com) – Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania is blasting his fellow party members who are criticizing President Joe Biden’s age and health, suggesting that they should just bust out their MAGA hats already because their rhetoric only benefits former President Donald Trump in the upcoming election.
The Democratic senator appeared on MSNBC on Thursday, Feb. 22, and was asked what he thinks is the biggest issue facing his state come November. Pennsylvania has become a critical swing state. In 11 elections out of the last 13, the winner of the state won the White House, including Trump in 2016 and then Biden in 2020.
Fetterman said he thinks the most important issue for Pennsylvania voters is what they want for their state and the nation as a whole and “kind of for the world order as well, too.” He said the election will be “very competitive” and that whoever wins will surely win the Keystone State, too, which Fetterman said he’s “always believed.” The senator said Pennsylvanians “have to lean in on that,” implying they will be able to determine the election.
Fetterman then went on to jab at some of his fellow Democrats for criticizing Biden “too publicly” and said he doesn’t understand their strategy. He asked his party members “what’s in it” for them by publicly bashing the president and accused some of them of “just chasing clout” in order to get on the news. Fetterman then told those Democrats that they “might as well” get their MAGA hats if they’re not willing to support Biden at this time, accusing them of “helping Trump.”
Last December, Fetterman was asked about the former president’s lead in the polls and dismissed the question, claiming it “doesn’t really matter” and that a lot could change between now and November.
The mounting criticism of Biden comes on the heels of a report from Special Counsel Robert Hur, which not only absolved the president of facing any charges for mishandling classified materials but said one of the reasons he couldn’t stand trial is because the jury would view him sympathetically as an “elderly man with poor memory.”
It’s also not surprising that Fetterman would be more sympathetic toward Biden after his own mental faculties came into question last year.
