(TotalConservative.com) – Liz Cheney and other members of the January 6 Select Committee are being accused of suppressing evidence that Trump requested the aid of the National Guard on January 6, 2021. A new report revealed a “hidden transcript” wherein critical testimony corroborating Trump’s claims that he asked for up to 10,000 national guardsmen was suppressed by the committee.
Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) issued comments on Friday, March 8 wherein he said that “critical witness testimony” was kept from the American public that corroborated statements by Trump and Mark Meadows that Trump offered up to 10,000 troops to secure Capitol Hill.
Loudermilk presented a transcript which included an interview with Trump’s White House Deputy Chief of Staff Anthony Ornato conducted by the J6 committee. The report referenced an article by Mollie Hemingway for The Federalist that suggested Liz Cheney herself suppressed the interview such that Democrats could claim Trump was lying about the requested guardsmen.
The interview with Ornato occurred in January 2022, betraying just how long this information has been kept from the American public while Trump’s antagonists claim he lied. Ornato has a distinguished record of working with the Secret Service for decades prior to joining the Trump administration.
Cheney and her fellow committee members claimed in their final report that there was “no evidence” Trump offered the additional troops. Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was blamed by Trump for failing to utilize the soldiers.
Corporate press outlets like The Washington Post then used the findings from the J6 report to claim Trump lied about requesting the soldiers.
The detailed transcript revealed that Ornato recalled Trump being on the phone with D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser when he offered her up to ten thousand troops. He added that Trump wanted to make sure she had the help she needed. She ultimately only requested around 350 or so, all of them unarmed, and mostly to help deal with traffic.
Cheney denied that she was responsible for concealing testimony in comments posted to X. She also suggested that one witness wasn’t credible. Mark Hemingway, a writer with Real Clear Investigations, suggested Cheney was using deceptive circular logic.
